Jamestown - Perfect Weather

This was a perfect day. The sky was deep blue, we got an early start (relatively hah) and nobody was there. Also challenged myself more than I normally do, I really do need to get out of the funk where I only climb what I know I can climb.
- Medusa Tree ( 9 )
- Pretty sweet climb, its not super awesome, but its not a waste of time. The 11 crux is slopey as hell heh.
- Scarecrow - 10 (probably a 10a/b)
- This was one of the routes that I just had to do. It was on my tick list for a long time. Between rain and other routes I just didn't get on it. Finally did, and damn it is pretty sweet. The business really is just the roof move. Which is like most of the other roof moves @ Jamestown.
- I do wish the gear at the roof was better... I had some shitty alien placement.
- Pumpkin Patches - 9+
- Another standard roof (It might just be the harvest wall sorta thing). But above the roof is an awesome tufa-esc counterpressure sloping move. It doesn't give you the top for free :)
- Rift Raft (10 c/d)
- Sweet route. This is waay easier than it looks from the ground. The overhanging section is only like 15/20 feet long, but its pretty pumpy. The holds are there.
- I dicked around with gear and shouldn't have been doing that. I also could have gotten a sweet hand jam, that only know did I even think of. Clearly, I wasn't thinking clearly then :). But not bad for an OS, but next time I'll just rock it.
- Cinnamon Girl (10)
- Sweet traverse moves, I wish the dihedral was longer
- Hairdresser on Fire (11c slab)
- Beautiful moves the whole way. I love this route. That tree is kinda annoying, but for the most part, its not in the way. That is a high first bolt though :)
Harvest wall standard roof beta
- go up slab with little gear
- reach up to a hold in the roof
- side pull up high
- bring legs up
- rock in with back
- plug gear
Thats how pretty much ever route we did at the harvest wall was like, some had more difficult sidepulls than others ;)
